1905 Payroll, 1904 City Directory and Censuses. Joseph Wiltner was born in Austria in 1846 and emigrated in 1868. His daughter, Augusta Tate, also lived here. He worked for many years as a laborer on the Capitol and named his occupation as "marble cutter" in 1900 and "marble finisher" in 1905. He stayed on at the Capitol as a janitor and his daughter, Augusta Tate, got a job there as a "scrub woman." His son, John Wlitner Jr. also work on the Captiol construction as a laborer. Wiltner Sr., apparently ousted by a change in administration, was working as a "marble polisher" at the time of the 1910 Census, but was back at the Capitol as a janitor in 1920 at the age of 76.
