The completion of the newly constructed Minnesota State Capitol Capitol building was celebrated with a parade on June 14, 1905.  Flags from the Civil War were carried from the old Capitol building to the new statehouse by veterans of the conflict.  Marching bands, soldiers and workers marched through downtown up the hill to the new building.
