Charles Young

1902 City Directory. Charles H. Young worked in the office of the Capitol contractor Butler Bros. as a bookkeeper.
George Young
Occupation:
1905 Payroll, St. Paul City Directory and Census. George Young was born in Vermont in 1844 and moved to Minnesota in 1888. He worked as a laborer and got on the Capitol staff as a janitor after completion.
Milton Young

1906 St. Paul City Directory and 1905 Census. Stonecutter Milton Young was born in Illinois in 1886. Several years after the completion of the Capitol he moved to Sandstone, MN and, according to his WWI draft card, was a foreman in the quarry there in 1918.

1904 City Directory. Milton Young worked as a stonecutter on the Capitol. George Keys also lived here.
Jacob A. Zadow

This is where 106 Viola would have been located. Jacob Zadow was a second generation German born in Illinois in 1870. He was active in the stone cutter union. The 1900 Census records that John Swanson, another Capitol stone cutter lived here also.
Florian Zauner

1900 Census and Newspaper reports. Florian Zauner (aka Florane Zauner) was born in Austria in 1858 and, according to his naturalization papers, came to America in 1893. He died in a fall at the Capitol on August 4, 1900. He was unmarried and the location of his grave is unknown.
Ambrosio Zavattoni

1905 Payroll and 1904 St. Paul City Directory. Stonemason Ambrosio Zavattoni was born in 1857 in Italy and emigrated in 1895. He was naturalized in St. Paul in 1904 and worked on the Capitol that year then left without a trace.
