Leon French

Occupation: 

Leon French was born in Minnesota in 1880. His father was a carpenter and he lived here with his parents for many years. He later became a bookbinder. His world War I draft registration indicates that he was hearing impaired and unable to speak.

Christopher Gallagher

Occupation: 

1905 Payroll, 1899,1900 City Directories. Christopher Gallagher (1861-1918) came to America from Ireland in 1881. The Stone Cutters'Journal of May 1898 reported that Gallagher was accepted into the St. Paul local on a card from Duluth. He was active in the Union and served as the Marshall for the stone cutters in the 1909 Labor Day parade. He and his wife raised a family in St. Paul and he died here in 1918.

John Geary

Occupation: 

Dale and Bumgardner Payroll. Teamster John Geary was born in Minnesota of Irish parents in 1859. He was a founding member of Teamsters Local 120 and elected president of the local at their first meeting.  Geary went on to become international vice president of the union.

Anthony George

Occupation: 

Dale and Bumgardner Payroll. Anthony George was born in 1880 in Syria and emigrated in 1899. He was a member of a small but vibrant Syrian-Lebanese community in St. Paul. George and his wife raised a large family here.

Henry Gerber

Occupation: 

1905 Payroll, St. Paul City Directory and Census. Carpenter Henry Gerber (1852-1937) was born in Germany and emigrated in 1868. He was one of the earliest members of Carpenters Local 87 joining in 1886. He married his wife, Bertha, raised a family and died here in St. Paul in 1937.
