Henry Martin
Hans Martinson
Hans Martinson was born in Norway in 1881 and came over with his family in 1883. Hans claims to be a carpenter in the 1910 Census but his WWI Draft Registration lists him as a marble worker. He claimed to be a "sawyer" in the 1901 City Directory.
John Martinson
John Martinson (Mortinson in the 1900 Census) was born in Sweden in 1892 and he and his wife came to America in 1892. They must have lived in Denmark for a few years because their two oldest daughters were born there. He raised his family in St. Paul working as a laborer for the utility company.John K. Peterson and Nels A. Johnson also lived at this address.
Nicholas Martinson
Nicholas Martinson, faher of Hans Martinson, lived here and also worked on the Capitol.
Patrick Maxwell
Patrick Maxwell was born in Missouri in 1873.
John McAteer
1900 St. Paul City Directory and Census. John McAteer was born in Pennsylvania in 1872 of Irish parents. The Aug. 2, 1900 St. Paul Globe reported that "John McAttler" a member of the International Stone Sawyers Union of Tate, GA. was moving from St. Paul to work in Sandstone, MN. He was back in St. Paul working for Butler Bros, however, by 1902 and is also found in the 1905 Payroll records.
Alexander McCallum
Alexander McCallum was born in Canada of Scottish parents in 1839 and came to the U.S. in 1865. His son Wallace was born in Minnesota in 1880. Alexander was a "bridge contractor" according to the Census and worked on the Capitol as a foreman for Butler-Ryan. Wallace listed his occupation both as carpenter and as a stationary engineer in the Census.
Charles McCarty
Charles McCarty was born of Irish parents in Wisconsin in 1860 and came to Minnesota in 1880.
James McCormack
