1903 City Directory. John Cling was born in Sweden in 1850 and emigrated in 1882. He lists his occupation as "blacksmith" in the census reports though he worked on the Capitol as a laborer.
A somewhat mysterious figure, Adelbert Clousky, was identified by a census taker in 1900 as "Edelbert Clow" living at this address. He was born in New York in 1848.
1902 Beam painting payroll. Frank Clymer worked as a laborer scraping beams in preparation for painting. He was born in Ohio in 1873 and moved to St. Paul in 1901.
Newspaper accounts and 1900 Census. Andrew Cole was born in Indiana in 1849 and came to Minnesota in 1873. In May of 1899 Andrew's son, Vernon, while working as a fireman with his father on a derrick, fell 75 feet and was nearly killed. Only 19 at the time, Vernon was born in Minnesota in 1880 and was working as a fireman with his father, engineer Andrew Cole. Andrew was active in the Stationary Enginners Union and was elected conductor of the local on June of 1902. Vernon went on to work for the Minneapolis Post Office for many years.

John Colquhoun was born in Scotland in 1875 and emigrated in 1888. He was active in the Minneapolis Journeymen Stone Cutters and served as president of the branch in 1902 and again in 1905. Colquhoun and his wife raised a large family in this house in Minneapolis as he worked as a stone cutter. He died here in 1915.
1902 City Directory. Allan Connelly worked in the office of Capitol contractor, Butler Bros., as a book keeper.
